Description

This is a placeholder for a planned future project of mine to create the first fusion binocular NVGs that can be obtained by civilians. Currently fusion NVGs are only sold to military and law enforcement agencies. My rough design includes the following:

* 3d printable housing that takes typical L3/Elbit EGACs and tubes

* off the shelf objective lenses and rear diopeters

* FLIR Boson 60Hz radiometric LWIR thermal camera

* microdisplay to project the thermal image into one or both of the rear diopeters, and act as a HUD

* AMD (Xilinx was acquired by AMD and the brand dropped) Spartan FPGA running Canny edge detection algorithm

* custom PCB to distribute power to the thermal sensor, EGACs, and microdisplay
